The final exercise was to provide a final animation piece featuring the modelled, textured, and rendered pieces that had been designed previously. To complete this tool brand that the author has been working on designing for the assignment, it seemed to be a fun opportunity to attempt a recreation at a pseudo-serious advertisement, akin to Ford Bronco commercials in the past. For this the animation segment needed to represent something abstract that was a platform for the models to be shown off in the feature of their design. To this the author used it as an opportunity to provide more reinforcement to the skills needed for animation. Utilising keyframes and movement the idea was to give the tools a bit of personality as they were navigated through the world. They are intended to be the man and only focus with the accompaniment of the voiceover provided to add context to the audience. Discerning how the set piece should look was a process to figure out, eventually it was settled on an abstract sky backdrop, photo was taken and provided by the author of a standard sunny british day, it didn’t need to be anything particular moreso a backdrop to offer contrast to the models, and as the designs are tool based it felty suitable to provide an environment in which they would be most likely to be used. The lighting became obvious to provide a mock sun style light. As the animation would take place “outside” it felt like the only suitable option.
