In this blog, I will be chronicling personal development research into a final design of a scrolling webpage. The webpage in question will feature a series of images of representation of different design aspects throughout history. For each design there will be a subsequent original image that is a reinterpretation of the main design piece in question. This website will follow a timeline like structure in which it will start at an early point in history and then end with present day design.
Through this blog we will be taking the steps through from start to end in an attempt to deliver a high quality final product. In order to do this, we will be exploring different topics throughout this research. First we will describe and explore the user experience for the website. By Introducing the idea and exploring the problem space, and the usability goals. After that we will be defining the user audience and taking a look at the stakeholders for this webpage. Using this we will define personas to help guide us through the design process. Moving on from this will lead us into analysing existing examples of similar websites, to develop an understanding of what aspects work and what fails to hit the mark.
With all this knowledge we will take some time to understand which design laws and UI principles will be applied to our final design. During this section the definition of the webpage will start to become realised, and moving on to an initial view of a prototyped design, with a comment on failed designs or ideas and a reason for design decisions at this stage.
